Comprehensive Endodontic & Root Canal Treatments
What is a Root Canal?
Endodontic treatment, or root canal treatment, treats the soft nerve tissue inside the tooth. Sometimes through disease or trauma, the nerve or pulp tissue needs to be removed. A root canal allows us to remove the nerve without removing the tooth. This is accomplished in one or possibly two appointments. Some root canal treatments can be done in the office or, if it is complex root anatomy, will be done in a specialist’s office. Once the root canal is complete, a permanent restoration (which usually is a crown) is done to help protect the remaining tooth structure. This can help you keep your natural smile so that you can continue to eat your favorite foods and maintain your overall health. Nothing looks, feels, or functions like your natural tooth!
